Mika earned her Bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology from Claremont McKenna College before beginning her legal journey. After earning a 179 on the LSAT, she was offered acceptance to several prestigious law schools, including Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Michigan, the University of Virginia, Vanderbilt, and the University of Chicago. She ultimately chose to complete her JD at the University of Chicago. 

As a tutor, Mika employs the "TEACH" approach, emphasizing trust, empowerment, appreciation, communication, and humor to motivate and engage students. During her sessions, she typically employs the EDIP (explain, demonstrate, imitate, and practice) teaching method, ensuring thorough understanding and skill development by modeling best practices and giving students constant feedback. Her greatest strength is interaction. She believes in a modeling/co-teaching process and pushes students to precisely identify why answers must be wrong. In her experience, a tutor's goal is not just to teach; it’s to train you in the best attack process possible.

In her free time, Mika loves to roller skate, dance, and play board games with friends. She is also a lifelong learner and is particularly interested in classical, medieval, and Victorian-era history.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys painting, singing, and traveling, as well as learning new languages. She speaks Spanish and is currently learning Chinese.

Currently, Kaitlyn serves as a legal intern at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. However, she has a strong background in education. She loves learning and is constantly searching for new things to discover. She is passionate about instilling that same love of learning in all the students she tutors. With a primarily visual teaching style, Kaitlyn emphasizes concept mastery, ensuring her students fully understand and retain the material.

Considering her impressive LSAT score, Kaitlyn excels at tutoring every section of the exam. With extensive training in formal logic, she spends considerable time with students to ensure they understand how the material appears on the LSAT. Outside of tutoring, Kaitlyn is very into theatre and costume design. She recently directed her first play.

After graduating, Julia served as a law clerk for a federal judge in the District of Nevada, where she researched, edited, read, and crafted dozens of published legal opinions. Since then, she has been living in Nevada, tutoring local and online students. Julia has also been working as a freelance copyeditor and writer, assisting scholars, industry leaders, authors, and organizations in refining and publishing their written works with independent and major outlets alike.

Julia is passionate about supporting students through their LSAT and law school admissions journey. Drawing from her own experience of securing scholarships and acceptances from top schools like Georgetown Law and George Washington University Law, she has a profound understanding of the importance of a strong LSAT score. This insight enables her to effectively guide students to achieve their highest score potential and gain admission to their top law schools. 

Julia’s diverse experience in law, education, and writing equips her with a unique perspective to guide students and support them in their LSAT journey. Julia is the proud owner of a twenty-year-old black cat named Bean, who has a habit of attending virtual tutoring sessions.

Throughout her tenure at Gould, Summer balanced NCAA lacrosse, involvement in sorority life, and active participation in student government. Moreover, she served as a Post-Conviction Justice Project student attorney and distinguished herself as a Saks Institute Scholar. She graduated with honors and now thrives as a labor and employment associate at an AmLaw 200 firm in San Diego.

Immediately after law school, Summer passed the California bar exam on her first attempt, making her one of the youngest in the state to reach that milestone. Understanding the intense pressure and challenges students face when preparing for the bar, she is dedicated to helping others succeed. With deep expertise across all areas of the exam, she has successfully led numerous students to conquer the bar on their first try.

In her free time, Summer enjoys playing lacrosse in an amateur league in San Diego, hanging out with her two cats, Sergio and Sage, and her two dogs, Chief and Rux.

Alex is currently a PhD candidate in politics at Princeton University, where he uses machine learning to study historical political speech. He has worked as an attorney at a large New York law firm, as a program officer for an international NGO, and as a bilingual elementary school teacher through Teach For America. At Princeton, he was a TA for six semesters, leading undergraduate sections in American politics, courts and comparative politics. He also provided extensive individual instruction and consulting on statistical analysis and programming to undergraduate students through Princeton’s statistical services office.

Alex is deeply committed to student success. He believes the tutor-student relationship should be collaborative and tailored to each individual, beginning by working together to identify the student’s specific goals and areas for improvement. His philosophy centers on structure with flexibility: having a clear plan but regularly reevaluating and adjusting as necessary. Alex strives to make each tutoring session both organized and productive, while fostering a laid-back and open environment where students can feel comfortable and supported.

Alex currently lives in the Philly area but is originally from Seattle. He is still a Seattle Mariners fan, which is typically a source of regret for him!
