At first, Kevin believed he’d need to put his law school dreams on hold; with an ill family member in his care, he struggled to find time to study for the LSAT while keeping his GPA high. As his family member began to gradually recover quicker than expected, he found himself with a glimmer of hope to apply to law school in the same cycle.
His main concern? He had scored 152 on his first LSAT and wanted to apply later in the cycle to allow him a retake. Scheduling a retake for November, Kevin approached us at the end of October with no application documents ready, wondering if applying before mid-January was possible and worthwhile.
We always suggest law school aspirants apply earlier in the cycle without sacrificing application quality. However, we understand that many candidates face extenuating circumstances and other obstacles which could prevent them from applying as soon as they’d like to.
From our first meeting with Kevin, we instantaneously created a detailed timeline to ensure he knew precisely what needed to be done by when so he could apply to law school by his preferred timeline. Despite the time crunch, we worked around Kevin’s busy schedule to uncover his most compelling experiences, determine how he wanted to present himself to admissions committees and ensure his resume and essays were edited to perfection.
After multiple review sessions, consistent email/phone communication, and regular virtual meetings, we helped Kevin refine his application documents before he planned to submit them!
Kevin applied to five schools and was accepted to three of them. He decided to accept an offer to Wake Forest University School of Law!
